CHAPTER 32

AT THIS POINT THE MEN heard shouting and running feet approaching. Before they could react, the swinging doors burst open, and Sergeant Bullock entered with a contingent of security force personnel.

“Up against the wall assholes!” shouted Bullock.

As the men complied with the demand, Bullock stared at Murphy and said, “I told you we would meet again, you smartass piece of shit.”

Murphy looked at him and smiled as he gave Bullock the finger and said, “Pretty loose security you have here, Bullock. My grandmother could have breached the perimeter and you pecker-heads would have been confused and baffled on what occurred. You couldn’t secure my niece’s dollhouse.”

Murphy took Bullock’s rifle to his gut for his outburst.

Murphy in obvious pain looked at the volunteers and said, “Don’t anyone say one word. We will wait until someone in authority shows up and then only speak when we have legal representation.”

Bullock laughed and said,” Oh, you will talk Murphy. By the time I am through with you, you’ll will be singing like a canary or maybe crying like a baby. Your choice, you fucking Marine asshole.”

Murphy responded by giving Bullock the finger salute again.

All during this yelling and confusion, NUS was staring at Bullock and giving the counterclockwise motion with his hands. Murphy noticed and was thinking that NUS uses the hand motion to signify good or bad…clockwise is good, counterclockwise is bad. Very interesting and rudimentary way to communicate, thought Murphy. I wonder how long NUS has been held here and how he’s been treated?

Everything seemed to be in a “Mexican stand-off” at this point.

Murphy spent his time glancing around the room trying to take in all the machines, laboratory equipment, and other component parts. It was obvious this was a major scientific laboratory, and he wondered if this is where Dr. Mueller spent his time. If this was true, then it is obvious that we are part of a much greater and unusual experimental project. Murphy also noticed a large box which appeared to be a freezer in the back of the room.

At this point, Dr. Carson, accompanied by Mueller, Casey, and Primly entered. No one was smiling.

Murphy thought to himself, “Oh shit!”

Not one to miss an opportunity to poke someone in the eye, Murphy stared at the group and yelled,” You people really screwed up this time. Hiding some type of creature and using us for some diabolical research project. Just wait until the War Department hears the truth about what you have done to us, especially, after Barkley’s untimely death after the blood transfusion.”

At this point Bullock gave the butt of the rifle to Murphy’s back and told him to, “Shut up asshole!”

Carson said, “Alright everyone, calm down. Bullock, I want you and your men to leave now. I also want a detailed report on what occurred in the truck compound and why your men abandoned their assigned posts. This was a serious breach of security protocol.”

Bullock started to say something, but Carson held his hand up and said, “Move it now, and no comments.
